Sina Marie is a multifaceted artist and Creative Visionaire’ shaped by a rich experience of art and beauty as apart of her early development. Sina was formally trained in Theatre Arts at the Freedom Theatre in Philadelphia, and a graduate of The Creative & Performing Arts High School. In addition, she was raised in the beauty industry in her grandmothers salon. A training ground where she learned the value of Beauty. After 2 years studying Science, Sina decided to leave college and pursue a career in beauty. As a young stylist, Sina began celebrity hair styling. She also took the hair show and performance world by storm. Sina is an award winning and nationally recognized trend creator, educator, producer and colorists known for her “disruptive” yet innovative concepts. Sina’s rich career as an entrepreneur in Beauty is within multitudes of the industry. The experiences early in her life shaped her vision for creative direction, storytelling and innovation.
Empowering Through Beauty
Sina’s long journey discovering beauty began as a child. Learning quickly to be proud of her beautiful skin tone despite societal views. A beginning that trained Sina on the Power of knowing who she was and redefining cultural constructs of beauty and creativity, not just for herself but for others. When she was old enough to pick up a curling iron, she began her “philanthropic work”. In a Documentary about her life and career, Fabulous Hair filmed in 2007 in which Sina Marie discusses her lessons watching her grandmother transform women. By the age of 11 Sina began using Beauty to create change. Sina would bring kids from the neighborhood to her basement and give them a “new attitude”. These were individuals who were mocked for their looks or circumstances. Sina was determined to do something about it. This was the beginning of her career in beauty as she grew a large clientele at the age of 12. Women and children would come to Sina for her latest hair designs.
Purposely— Creatively Transforming
In 2011 Sina Marie was at the prime of her career. Sina Marie, was a swanky salon in the Spring Garden section in Philadelphia. Hands down considered Philadelphia’s #1 salon for makeovers known to be the place for customized cuts and colors in the “urban beauty market”. In 2014, the central air unit in Sina Marie salon shut down in the middle of the hot summer. With no options, except to replace the air unit for the 3 story brownstone the salon operated in— Sina decided to close her thriving business. This was the beginning of God leading her to a deeper understanding of her DIVINE purpose. During her free time she began working with Non-Profit organizations, assisting on City initiatives and volunteering in schools. Her natural gift for problem solving and her ability to see the BEAUTY IN ALL THINGS shifted her focus and Sina’s powerful vision has expanded and is available through her creative agency and ministry bettering lives and community.
I AM A VESSEL: A Divine Vision Creatively Building
In 2017, As a guest speaker for the fashion students at the Murrell Dobbins High School in Philadelphia, Sina Marie discovered a major disconnect with students and education. Sina asked over 30 students, WHO ARE YOU? A question that set the room on fire and that led her to began I Am A Vessel & the I Am A Vessel Youth Movement Non-Profit Organization.
Going Deeper Within
In 2018 Sina Marie released Garden of Vessels. Garden of Vessels was an exploration of youth culture and the effects that technology and dis-communication was having on young generations. It was a multi-faceted exhibition, one of the first of its kind in the city of Philadelphia. The event gathered educators, students, parents, administrators, community activist and all members within community challenging them to dive deeper into the matter.
